Albury Opens Public Land for Pop-Ups

In an exciting step for the community, Albury will open up prominent public sites for commercial activations such as temporary pop-ups, increasing the attractiveness of the city for locals and visitors.

AlburyCity is calling for Expressions of Interest from businesses to utilise designated high profile public spaces for a range of activities including group fitness sessions, mobile dog washes, paddle boarding, bike hire, hot air ballooning, skydiving and mobile food/drink vans.

The new policy endorsed by Council provides greater opportunity for businesses to conduct activities outside of traditional premises with high exposure but without the commitment of a long-term lease, providing the ideal chance to test the market or trial business expansion.

The principles guiding the management of commercial activities on public land have been designed to ensure the adequate balance between existing public enjoyment of these spaces and creation of new opportunities to add vibrancy and broader appeal.

We encourage businesses interested in the opportunity to operate in one of Albury’s high profile public space in Albury to lodge an Expression of Interest with Council. Applications can be made for varying timeframes from one month through to an annual licence, with annual licences running from 1 October to 30 September.
